HOW THIS WORKS
Who runs this site, and who builds a kitchen in Saugus, CA?
Short answer
This site is a referral service. It passes your request to one licensed kitchen contractor who works in Saugus and across the Santa Clarita Valley. That contractor walks the room, writes the price and does the work. This site writes the guides and forwards the message, and nothing more.
Who does which part
- This site
- Publishes the guides, with a link to the code section or report behind each figure. Forwards the form you send to the contractor. It does not measure kitchens, set prices, order cabinets, file permits or send anyone to your door.
- The contractor
- Comes to the house, looks at the boxes, the plumbing and the panel, and writes the scope line by line. Arranges the permits the work needs and builds the kitchen. Any agreement you sign is between you and the contractor.
From your message to a written scope
- Your message
- The form asks for your name, a way to reach you, where the kitchen is and what you want changed. It goes to our inbox and on to the contractor, and to no one else.
- The walkthrough
- The contractor visits and goes through the kitchen with you: what stays, what moves, and what sits behind the soffit or under the slab.
- The written scope
- Every line is itemized, and anything that depends on what is found behind a wall carries a named allowance. It is yours to keep, and there is no obligation to go ahead with it.
The pictures on this site
Every picture here is a computer made rendering, and each one carries a small "Rendering" tag. They show kinds of rooms and stages of a job. None is a photograph of the contractor's work, and none shows a particular house in Saugus. The finished kitchens page explains when real photographs will appear and what they will have to show.
Checking the contractor yourself
A license is public record in California. Before anyone starts work, you can look up a license number on the state board's own search and see its status and classification. Ask the contractor for the number at the walkthrough. The page on permits and inspections covers who is responsible for the paperwork.
